Smother, Safer Rides Along Cariboo Roads

100 MILE HOUSE – A contract worth nearly $610,000 has been awarded to Okanagan Aggregates Ltd to resurface approximately two kilometres of Mahood Lake Road and pave two kilometres of Bridge Lake Road southeast of 100 Mile House.

Why this matters:

  • The upgrades will increase safety for residents of 100 Mile House and other commuters on the two sections of road by providing an improved smoother pavement surface.

Work being done:

  • On Mahood Lake Road 28 kilometres southeast of 100 Mile House the existing pavement will be resurfaced starting 1.5 kilometres north of the intersection of Horse Lake Road and continuing for about 2 kilometres.
  • On Bridge Lake Road North, 44 kilometres southeast of 100 Mile House the existing gravel road will be paved 5 km north of Highway 24 and continuing for approximately 2 km, tying into the existing pavement at Grossette Road.

Quote:

"Safety is a priority for this government and we want to ensure that the travelling public has the best possible highway surfaces to travel along through the Cariboo-Chilcotin area."
-Cariboo-Chilcotin MLA Donna Barnett
